PROTEIN

A study in diet recommendations, 
focused on protein needs for contemporary dancers 

 

 

Alongside my training to become a dancer, my interest in nutrition has grown significantly. An active lifestyle has always been important to me, and i wanted to expand upon my knowledge by studying protein needs for contemporary dancers. I created an inspiring and user-friendly booklet that go into depth around protein needs, and touches upon diet recommendations in general for contemporary dancers.

 

With the demands of dance training, dancers break down muscle tissue in dance classes everyday. Proper recovery is essential in improving skills and maintaining a body and brain that functions optimally at all times. A good balance of macronutrients is key for that recovery. This booklet aims to share some of the knowledge I gained through the research of an independent project and will give you some recommendations of what and why, how much and when to eat to benefit dance training, with particular focus on protein. This booklet also shares inspiration for healthy eating habits with recipes. Alongside the research, a female nutritionist was interviewed in the project. She brought her expertise to the topic and I will draw on this throughout the booklet.
